Dress and Effect is part of the Operation Prom National Network, located in White Plains, NY.

Our mission is to offer free prom dresses to local students in need, along with a curated selection of low-cost formal wear and bridal gowns for the community. All proceeds from sales directly support Operation Prom’s programs and services.

Each year, we receive thousands of dress donations—many of which aren’t prom-appropriate due to their style, age, or condition. Some are too mature, vintage, or simply not trendy enough for today’s teens. But that doesn’t mean they should go to waste.

At Dress and Effect our goal is to repurpose and rehome new and gently worn dresses, giving them a second chance while keeping them out of landfills. By recycling fashion with purpose, we’re creating access, reducing waste, and supporting our local community—all at once.
